Special CamNews
I wanted to take a moment to update you on some organizational changes taking place within the college. These changes are part of our efforts to make our operations more efficient and improve the support we provide to students and employees.
Office of the Registrar and Camosun International
As part of ongoing changes within Education and Innovation, the Office of the Registrar and Camosun International will now join the division. This alignment will help streamline services and foster even better collaboration and synergies. We’ll soon be opening a competition for a permanent Associate VP of Education and Innovation to support the work of the division; thank you to Sybil Harrison for stepping up during the interim period. Reporting relationships are still being finalized, and we’ll share more details soon.
Advancement and Alumni Foundation
Advancement and Alumni Foundation will be joining Strategy, Planning and Transformation. This move aims to enhance the strategic direction of our advancement efforts and help us continue to grow our relationships with donors, alumni, and supporters.
Ancillary Services
Given essential spending mandates, the vacant Director of Ancillary Services position will not be filled. Instead, various units within Ancillary Services will be redistributed. Facility rentals will now report to the Office of the Registrar, aligning with their work on scheduling. The print shop, graphics, and distributed printing services will report into Information 91 Services, and the bookstore and childcare services will now report within the Administration Division, under the leadership of the Associate VP Administration Services.
The affected departments have been notified and are being supported through these changes, which will take effect on Feb. 24, 2025.
Trades, Training and Professional Studies
As shared in earlier communications, Trades, Training and Professional Studies will report within the Education and Innovation Division starting March 31, 2025. This alignment will enhance the efficiency of operations for short-term programs, micro-credentials, and industry training opportunities.
The affected departments have been notified and are being supported through these changes, which will take effect on Feb. 24, 2025.
I sincerely appreciate your patience, cooperation, and support during this transition. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your exempt manager.
Thank you for your continued commitment to the important work we do together.
